Back Mount Escapes

The Best Way To Escape From The Jiu Jitsu Body Triangle [YouTube Link]  (Gordon Ryan): Gordon begins by explaining that there are four variations of the body triangle, in this video he covers the escape for the scenario where you are on your opponent's overhook side with a top side triangle. Your primary hand will be blocking the choke at all times with an inside hand position. This must remain there and if it's removed you must get it back. You will use the elbow of your secondary defensive hand to place it under the knee of your opponent. You will then sprawl out, which will create ankle exposure on your opponent, leaving it vulnerable to being trapped. Once you trap the foot, use the secondary hand to capture your opponent's foot and bring it towards you. When your opponent goes to reposition you square your hips to the ceiling and then step over your opponent's leg. From here you continue escaping the back as you normally would.
